University of Michigan-Peking University Joint Institute
The University of Michigan--Peking University Joint Institute (simplified as “Joint Institute”)is established by the University of Michigan (UM) and Peking University (PKU), to develop teaching and research activities in China, to share educational resources and to promote educational reform.
As Universities of the world, UM and PKU are dedicated to the production and dissemination of knowledge in a global context. The purpose of the Institute is to provide an international platform that facilitates and organizes such training and research through joint academic programs open to all UM and PKU graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and faculty as well as undergraduate students. Such programs will provide important training and research opportunities for American and Chinese students and faculty in general, and in the process enhance not only our respective campuses, but our respective nations by training UM and PKU students, faculty, and staff to study, think, and work in an increasingly global world. After successful completion of the courses and passing the exams, students will be offered JI certificates.
